Film

Genevieve was in two films in the Cannes film Festival last year. Jane Campion's "The Water Diary" and Paul Goldman's "Suburban Mayhem". Previous to that, her last appearance at Cannes was in 1989 with another Jane Campion film, "Sweetie" which played to very divided houses - those that loved it and those that hated it. Seemingly no middle ground. In spite of this, in the same year it won the coveted Georges Sadoul Prize for the best foreign film in France. As Vincent Canby, in the New York Times pointed out,  "audiences that want to be led by the hand through conventional movies didn't know how to deal with "Sweetie." "

In 2004 Genevieve, with Colin Wilson, wrote two songs for Karen Colston's short film "The Station" which has screened a couple of times on SBS TV. They also performed the songs live in the film.

And co-incidently she also wrote another piece of music with Wilson for the previous film she was in. That was "Holy Smoke". All in all she has been in 4 Jane Campion films - "Sweetie", "The Piano", "Holy Smoke" and "The Water Diary".
